Senior Backend Engineer (Go + Web3)

Operating at the intersection of security and blockchain, our team of crypto custody and cybersecurity experts builds and operates the industry-leading MPC wallet used by nearly 300 institutional clients to deploy capital securely across multiple blockchains.

Fordefi has recently been acquired by Paxos, a leading regulated digital asset infrastructure provider that issues stable-coins for global enterprises and powers brokerage and settlement solutions for major financial institutions and fintechs. Together with Paxos, we are scaling Fordefi's technology and accelerating our mission to provide institutions with secure and reliable access to digital assets.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Build and maintain backend services powering a platform trusted to safeguard billions of dollars in digital assets
• Design and evolve the core transaction infrastructure that powers institutional digital asset operations
• Integrate new blockchain networks (EVM, Solana, Cosmos, and more)
• Design and improve our chain abstraction layer, providing a unified developer experience across multiple blockchains
• Own the full transaction lifecycle: construction, signing, broadcasting, and tracking
• Simulate transaction execution, identify risks, and support advanced DeFi interactions
• Work in a distributed microservices architecture built with Go and Python, communicating over gRPC and Protocol Buffers

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 5+ years of backend software development experience
• Strong proficiency in Go (Python is a plus)
• Experience building and operating microservices in production
• Experience with cloud platforms and container orchestration (AWS, Kubernetes)
• A security- and correctness-first mindset: you test thoroughly and reason carefully about edge cases
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team
• Experience building blockchain applications or strong familiarity with blockchain architecture, transactions, wallets, and smart contract interactions

Nice to Have

• Experience with EVM, Solana, Cosmos or any chain ecosystems
• Background in fintech, digital asset custody, or other high-assurance, regulated systems
