Senior Computer Vision Engineer / Co-Founder Track (Right-Hand to CTO)

Skyhoop is a recently funded, fast-growing defense tech startup building the next generation of cost-effective, optical drone detection systems. Our technology is a lightweight, edge based counter drone detection system that processes high resolution videos directly on low power edge hardware. We operate with zero cloud dependency for detection, ensuring live threat detection in the most critical environments.

Our system is already field proven. In a recent operational military pilot, our optical detection maintained a flawless record of zero false positives and zero missed detections over a continuous deployment. Now, we are scaling.

We are looking for a relentless, highly accountable Senior Computer Vision/Algorithm Engineer to be the right hand to our CTO. For the right candidate, this role offers a pathway to a Co-Founder position. You will not find bureaucracy or micromanagement, If you are a builder who thrives on extreme ownership this is your arena

You will be given complex algorithmic challenges, and you will be expected to own the end-to-end execution autonomously.

• Edge-Optimized AI: Develop and deploy robust Computer Vision and Machine Learning algorithms that run seamlessly on standard, low-power edge devices.
• High-Stakes Detection Logic: Refine our optical detection models to distinguish between clear sky and complex backgrounds (like mountains and vegetation) with zero latency.
• System-Level Architecture: Build highly efficient, production ready systems to process  extreme resolution, synchronized camera feeds on real time.
• Core Product Evolution: Work directly alongside the CTO to dictate the technical roadmap, optimize our algorithms, and transition our battle tested prototype into a scalable, mass deployed defense product.

• Absolute Autonomy: This is the most critical requirement. You are a self-driven problem solver who thrives without guidance, takes full accountability, and owns your domain from day one.
• Hands-on & Field-Ready: You are excited to step away from the screen from time to time to travel to clients, deploy systems, and test algorithms directly in the field under real-world operational conditions 
• Experience: 3–7 years of proven, hands-on experience in algorithmic development and system-level engineering.
• Technical Mastery: Deep, end-to-end expertise in Computer Vision and Machine Learning. You know how to build models from scratch and optimize them for constrained hardware.
• All around player. You have a "can-do" approach and thrive in an unstructured startup environment.
• Bonus Points: Background in military technology, defense tech startups, or direct IDF technological unit experience.
