C++ Core Technology Developer

Role Description This is a full-time, hybrid C++ Core Technology Developer role based in Israel. The developer will design, implement, and optimize core C++ components, libraries, and services that form the backbone of Magicdata’s technology stack. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, efficient, and well-documented C++ code; profiling and improving performance; troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues; and participating in code reviews. The role involves collaborating with other engineers to define architecture, ensure reliability and scalability, and integrate core components with higher-level applications and data pipelines. The developer will also help maintain build systems, contribute to testing frameworks, and adopt best practices in software engineering and version control.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in modern C++ (e.g., C++11 and above), including core language features, STL, and best practices for performance and memory management.
• Experience developing core systems or infrastructure software, such as libraries, APIs, Curl , services, or real-time/high-throughput components.
• Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and operating system concepts.
• Hands-on experience with software development tools and workflows, including version control (e.g., Git), build systems (e.g., CMake), and debugging/profiling tools.
• Ability to write reliable, maintainable code supported by unit tests, integration tests, and continuous integration practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on diagnosing performance bottlenecks and complex defects.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional engineering teams on-site.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with distributed systems, networking, or large-scale data processing is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Linux development environments and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) is beneficial.
