Job Summary

The manufacturing and NPI engineer leads technical aspects of the products being manufactured in production through their life cycle, improving efficiency, ensuring high-quality, on-time production and reducing costs. Managing the transfer of new products from development to production and driving project execution aimed at enhancing yield and cost efficiency.

Essential Functions

• Lead New Products Introduction (NPI) processes from R&D and initial prototype to mass production and products stabilization
• Perform DFA, test VSM and PFMEA for new products
• Lead mold duplication projects ensure that projects are completed on time and meeting quality standards.
• Lead engineering change orders (ECOs) for product improvements and second source qualification
• Develop production jigs, tools and testers within the production floor and at sub-contractors
• Develop and validate manufacturing processes include tools IQ/OQ/PQ and product Process validation processes
• Improve production failure rates
• Real time problem solving of issues in production lines
• Establish new production lines
• Collaborate with R&D, production lines, subcontractors and cross‑functional teams
• CAD design proficiency (SolidWorks)

Required/Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
• At least 2 years of experience in a medical device manufacturing environment or similar manufacturing industry.
• At least 2 years in high volume production processes
• At least 3 years of experience with NPI and ECO’s processes
• At least 3 years of experience in CAD and PLM systems
• Experience in jig design, including requirements, design and validation
• Background in the worlds of plastic injection molding preferred

• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
