Hardware and Firmware Engineer

Job Description:

QuantalX Neuroscience is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to lead our hardware R&D, working with digital, analog as well as high power, high voltage tech.

Excellent teamwork and communication skills are essential, alongside experience in development of medical systems including design and development of new and existing products and supporting production line.

Applying knowledge and principals of electronic theory, design, and engineering to design and develop electronic circuit boards and upgrade existing designs.

Plans, improves, and manages firmware designs from inception to use.

Printing wiring board design using CAD tools.

Preparation and creation of technical documentation for hardware and firmware designs.

Work with technicians, software developers, and consultant staff as needed.

Performs other duties, tasks or projects as requested and assigned by supervisor or management.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the company’s engineering R&D. Ownership of a project\product from end to end, from concept and simulation, through development, integration, certification and field deployment.
• HW lab hands on debug
• Support production.
• Conducting engineering investigation and root core analysis.
• CIP- Cost improvement process by design.

Qualifications:

• BSc in electrical engineering- Must
• At least 5 years of experience in power electronics- Must
• Proven record of leading power electronics design, from conceptual stage to product level.
• Experience with hardware CAD design and simulation tools.
• Experience with safety standard and design regulations considerations of medical devices.
• Hands on experience with PCB bring-up and operating electrical laboratory equipment.
• Must- Familiar with STM32 microcontroller, including Firmware writing in C.
• Knowledge in the field of embedded microprocessors.
• EMI and shielding technique experience.
• Knowledge in communication protocols: UART, SPI and I2C.
• Ability to work and learn independently as well as collaborate in teamwork.
• High level of English.
