Out for Change is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the social and economic integration of individuals leaving the ultra-Orthodox (Haredi) community in Israel. Alongside employment, education, leadership, and personal resilience programs, the organization promotes systemic policy change through research, field-based knowledge, and collaboration with decision-makers.
We are looking for a Policy Lead to lead the organization's policy work by developing policy recommendations and advancing them with government ministries, the Knesset, and strategic partners. The role focuses on influencing public policy in the areas of welfare, personal resilience, and social inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
- Policy Development: Analyze research and field-based knowledge, develop evidence-based policy recommendations, prepare policy papers and position papers, and promote them with key stakeholders.
- Policy Advocacy: Build and maintain ongoing relationships with government ministries, local authorities, and Knesset committees; represent the organization in professional forums; monitor legislation, government initiatives, public tenders' opportunities.
- Strategic Partnerships: Develop and manage long-term partnerships with government agencies, academic institutions, policy think tanks, and civil society organizations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, PPE (Philosophy, Politics & Economics), Economics, Law, Political Science, or a related field.
- Master's degree – an advantage.
- Experience working with government ministries, the Knesset, public institutions, or regulatory bodies – a significant advantage.
- Experience in policy development, writing policy papers or position papers, and advancing policy initiatives – a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with Israel's welfare system and public policy processes – an advantage.
- Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills.
- Ability to translate complex information into practical policy recommendations.
- Strong project management skills, ability to work independently, and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive partnerships.
Additional Information
- Full-time position.
- Hybrid work model-Three days a week from the organization's offices in the Ramat Gan Diamond Exchange District.
- Occasional travel to Jerusalem as required.
