Design Systems & AI Design Operations Lead

About the role

We build professional security and smart-home systems; our software (PC installer software and mobile application) is dense with data: device programming tables, configuration screens, live status. Since 2014 we designed these the traditional way; today AI generates our screen proposals — modern, clean, fast. What we’re missing is not someone who draws: it’s someone who turns approved decisions into a system that accumulates. You will lead the design team, own the Figma design system as the single source of truth, run the AI-to-Figma pipeline, and guarantee that every new module inherits everything we already decided.

What you’ll do

• Own the design system in Figma: component library (cells, dropdowns, checkboxes, tables), variables/tokens, modes, and master templates per device family. Enforce library hygiene — components over copies, variables over hardcoded values.

• Run the AI design pipeline: translate product/firmware feature specs into AI design proposals; curate the output against our standards; convert approved designs into production Figma (components, variants, states — not flat images) using AI-to-Figma tools and Figma’s agent capabilities; continuously evaluate new tooling.

• Build the knowledge base: maintain the pattern library, the UI terminology glossary, and a decision log; capture every review decision into the system the same week; eliminate cross-screen discrepancies.

• Reuse before redesign: audit existing screens before any new work; find, consolidate, and refactor duplicated or divergent patterns onto the system.

• Organize flows and states: screen inventories, user flows per persona (installer, dealer, end user), conditional behaviors (fields that appear/hide by type), interaction patterns (popups, context menus), empty/error states.

• Deliver to production: assets, tokens, and specs consumed by the application team and the PC team; keep the design-to-code mapping current.

• Lead the team and the cadence: plan the team’s work, run design reviews with the owner and the application/firmware leads, triage review feedback into applied fixes, and converge within 2–3 review cycles.

What we need from you

• 5+ years designing or leading design for data-dense professional software — admin consoles, configuration tools, dashboards, industrial/IoT systems. Show us tables, forms, and programming screens, not landing pages.

• Expert-level Figma: components & variants, variables/tokens, shared libraries, prototyping; you’ve built or governed a design system used by multiple teams.

• Real, hands-on AI-assisted design experience: prompting, evaluating and correcting AI output, AI-to-Figma conversion workflows; comfortable working alongside AI agents daily.

• Systems thinking and obsessive consistency; strong information architecture.

• Documentation discipline: glossaries, pattern docs, decision logs that people actually use.

• Team leadership and confident communication with senior stakeholders (owner, R&D leads).

• Nice to have: basic front-end literacy (design tokens, how components become code), security/alarm or IoT domain exposure, Hebrew + English.

What this role is not

Not an artistic/brand visual designer and not a from-scratch illustrator — AI proposes the look; you own correctness, consistency, accumulation, and conversion to production-ready Figma.

Success in the first year:

• Every new module starts from an approved family template; zero terminology drift reaching owner reviews.

• Screens converge in ≤ 2–3 review rounds, with visible improvement round over round.

• Measurable reuse: new screens composed overwhelmingly from existing components.

• The decision log and glossary exist, are current, and are cited in every review.
