We are a FinTech charity with one mission: grow giving in Israel. We bring modern digital tools to the charity sector, making it easier for donors, charities, and organizations to manage giving, campaigns, receipts, data, and donation workflows through smart technology.

We are looking for a Tech Lead to join our product and engineering team and drive the technical direction of Jgive's donation, fundraising, charity, and donor-management products. We need a hands-on technical leader who can lead complex technical processes end-to-end, make tough architectural decisions and take real ownership of where our platform is heading.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set and own the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap across our Rails + React stack, in close partnership with product and leadership
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of developers - through code reviews,, technical guidance, and fostering a culture of ownership and quality
• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and GraphQL APIs using Ruby on Rails
• Develop and enhance modern, high-quality user interfaces with React
• Lead complex technical initiatives end-to-end from architecture and decision-making through delivery - taking ownership of ambiguous problems and driving them to resolution
• Partner with product, growth, and leadership stakeholders to translate business needs into technical strategy and clear delivery plans
• Integrate AI-powered capabilities into the platform (e.g., intelligent donation matching, automated tax receipt handling, personalized recommendations, or smart compliance tools)
• Leverage AI tools daily in your workflow and define how the team adopts and scales AI-augmented development practices
• Ensure performance, security, reliability, and maintainability across the stack
• Continuously improve our development processes using modern tooling and AI augmentation

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Deep expertise in backend technologies, Ruby on Rails or similar frameworks
• Proven experience as a Tech Lead or in a similar technical leadership role
• Strong production experience building applications with React
• Track record of making and defending architectural decisions in production systems - including trade-off analysis, technical debt management, and balancing short-term delivery with long-term maintainability
• Strong, verifiable prompt engineering skills and hands-on experience leveraging AI in real-world development workflows (e.g., Cursor, Claude, custom agents, AI-assisted testing/CI, or building AI-powered features in production).
• Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred), API design, and modern web architecture
• Experience working in agile teams with Git, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent English communication skills (Hebrew is a plus)
• Based in Israel and able to work a hybrid schedule (60% from our Jerusalem office)

• Experience in fintech, SaaS, donation platforms, or tech-for-good products
• Familiarity with Israeli charity compliance, tax receipts (Section 46), or payment processing
• Open-source contributions or personal projects that demonstrate AI workflow mastery
• GraphQL experience on either or both sides of the wire
