SOX Manager for a Leading Financial Institution

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the annual Risk Assessment process, identifying material accounts, disclosures, and key business processes.

• Document and maintain process narratives, flowcharts, and Risk Control Matrices (RCM).

• Plan and execute testing programs for both Design Effectiveness (DE) and Operating Effectiveness (OE).

• Manage control deficiencies: identification, evaluation, documentation, and coordination of remediation plans with business and technology teams.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for External Auditors, including PBC coordination and review of findings; collaborate closely with Internal Audit.

• Report control status, material weaknesses, and remediation progress to senior management, the Audit Committee, and the Board of Directors.

• Oversee the CEO/CFO certification process under Section 302.

Requirements

• B.A. in Accounting – Mandatory.

• CPA License – Mandatory.

• M.A. in Economics, Management, or Accounting – Advantage.

Experience

• 5–7 years of hands‑on experience in the SOX field.

• Proven background in a Big 4 firm (Audit or Risk Advisory) – Significant advantage.

• Prior SOX audit/control experience in a large banking or financial institution – Significant advantage.

• Strong understanding of withholding tax processes and related controls – Advantage.

• Managerial experience, including team leadership – Advantage.

Skills & Competencies

• Deep knowledge of SOX (Sections 302 & 404), COSO, and PCAOB standards.

• Strong understanding of financial reporting and banking accounting processes. • High analytical ability, attention to detail, and a systemic, structured approach.

• Excellent project management and ability to lead complex, cross‑organizational processes.

• High‑level English proficiency (reading, writing, speaking) – Mandatory.
