Business Development Manager
Location: Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea - Expat Position
Global Talent Search is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager for a leading organisation within the agriculture and industrial sector.
This is an exciting opportunity for a results-oriented sales leader who enjoys developing strategic customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities and leading a high-performing sales team.
About the Role
Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth, increasing market share and strengthening key customer relationships across Papua New Guinea.
This is a highly customer-focused role where you will spend the majority of your time engaging with customers, identifying new business opportunities and developing strategies to grow existing accounts while expanding the organisation's market presence.
You will also provide leadership and coaching to the sales team, ensuring strong commercial performance and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement business development and sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key commercial customers, government agencies and strategic partners.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities while expanding existing customer accounts.
- Lead commercial negotiations, pricing discussions and contract agreements.
- Drive sales pipeline activity, forecasting and opportunity conversion.
- Monitor market trends, customer needs and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
- Coach, mentor and develop the sales team to maximise performance and accountability.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure outstanding customer service and operational excellence.
- Contribute to budgeting, business planning and commercial decision-making.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience in business development, sales leadership or key account management.
- A demonstrated track record of delivering revenue growth and winning new business.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing pricing, margins and profitability.
- Exceptional relationship-building, negotiation and communication skills.
- Experience leading, coaching and developing high-performing sales teams.
- Strong analytical, planning and organisational skills.
- The ability to build long-term strategic partnerships with customers and stakeholders.
- Experience within agriculture, heavy equipment, machinery, industrial products, construction, mining, automotive or other technical B2B industries will be highly regarded.
