Backend Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to join an innovative cybersecurity company developing advanced solutions for securing machine and non-human identities in modern cloud environments. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services and cloud-native applications.
• Build and enhance API integrations with third-party platforms and services.
• Design and own backend architectures with a focus on scalability, reliability, security, networking, and data management.
• Develop monitoring, automation, and observability tools to ensure system stability and performance.
• Design and implement large-scale data processing solutions and analytics pipelines.
• Lead projects end-to-end, from architecture and design through development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
• Collaborate closely with Product, DevOps, Security, and Engineering teams to deliver new features and capabilities.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and continuously improve system performance and reliability.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, engineering best practices, and technical strategy.
• Develop customer-focused solutions that address real-world security and infrastructure challenges.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer building scalable and distributed systems.
• Strong experience with microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS (GCP or Azure experience is also relevant).
• Hands-on experience working with containerized environments.
• Experience with messaging and queueing technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, scalability, and system design principles.
• Solid knowledge of security best practices and secure application development.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects from concept to production.

Advantage

• Experience with Python and/or TypeScript.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
• Background in cybersecurity, identity management, cloud security, or data-intensive platforms.
