Lead Systems Engineer

Missiles & Space Division is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to lead the engineering execution of advanced naval air defense projects for international customers.

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the next generation of naval air defense systems within a world-class defense organization. The systems developed as part of these programs integrate a broad range of cutting-edge technologies, including surface-to-air missile interceptors, launch systems, radar, communications, command-and-control (C2) systems, and interfaces with advanced naval platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering management and technical oversight of projects throughout their lifecycle while serving as a primary engineering focal point for customers.
• Define and manage system requirements derived from customer contracts and operational needs.
• Develop the overall system architecture and System-of-Systems (SoS) design.
• Author and maintain high-level system specifications and technical documentation.
• Lead multidisciplinary development, integration, verification, and validation activities.
• Drive the integration of the air defense system with naval platforms and subsystems supplied by leading international defense manufacturers.
• Provide matrix leadership to system engineering teams and coordinate activities with subcontractors and external engineering partners.
• Lead system performance analysis, development testing, and customer acceptance trials in Israel and abroad.
• Support business development and marketing activities with technical expertise.
• Collaborate closely with customers, partners, and subcontractors in both domestic and international environments.
• Participate in sea trials and onboard operational activities on vessels equipped with the system.

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline – required.
• M.Sc. in Systems Engineering – advantage.
• At least 3 years of experience in Systems Engineering within complex System-of-Systems (SoS) development programs, preferably in the C4I (Command, Control, Communications, Computers & Intelligence) domain – required.
• Proven ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams in a matrix organization – required.
• Hands-on experience in technical documentation, requirements definition, and system performance analysis – required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Hebrew and English – required.
• Willingness to travel internationally – required.
• Familiarity with missile systems, air defense systems, weapons systems, or related defense technologies – significant advantage.
• Strong analytical skills, systems thinking, independence, leadership capabilities, and a results-oriented mindset.
