Cost Estimation Engineer

Cost Estimation Engineer | Lod | IAI Aviation Group

We are looking for a Cost Estimation Engineer to join RL Technologies Production at IAI’s Aviation Group. The role focuses on pricing aerospace manufacturing parts based on technical specifications, drawings, and customer requirements.

The position includes:

• Reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements received from customers, engineering, and sales teams

• Analyzing mechanical drawings, including tolerances, GD&T, and quality requirements

• Selecting appropriate manufacturing processes, including machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, assembly, and finishing

• Building detailed cost estimates covering raw materials, machining and labor hours, machine and tooling costs, and subcontractor services

• Evaluating market pricing and adjusting estimates to remain competitive

• Collaborating with engineering, production, procurement, and sales teams

• Leading customer engagements throughout the quotation process

What we’re looking for:

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a Practical Engineering degree in a relevant field, required

• At least 2 years of experience in industrial or engineering cost estimation within a manufacturing environment, required

• Experience with manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, turning, milling, sheet metal fabrication, welding, hydraulic systems, or mechanical assemblies, required

• Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications, required

• Familiarity with raw materials such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, an advantage

• Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems, an advantage

• Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO and AS9100, an advantage

• Experience working with industrial or defense customers, an advantage
