Platform System Engineer

We are looking for a Platform System Engineer (Aero-Mechanical Systems Engineer) to join the Engineering & Development Division within the Military Aircraft Division at Israel Aerospace Industries.

The position includes:

• Leading multidisciplinary upgrade and development programs for military aircraft platforms

• Managing matrix-based engineering teams to introduce new capabilities into operational aircraft systems

• Expanding and defining flight envelopes in accordance with military airworthiness and certification requirements

• Converting aircraft platforms to support new operational missions and capabilities

• Leading structural design and verification activities for composite materials and airframe structures

• Working across multiple engineering disciplines including loads and stress analysis, fatigue, mechanical design, electrical power systems, EMI considerations, flight controls, landing gear systems, hydraulics, and flight test engineering

• Collaborating closely with test engineers and supporting flight test campaigns

What we’re looking for:

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering – Mandatory

• At least 5 years of experience in relevant aero-mechanical engineering disciplines – Mandatory

• Experience supporting flight test operations or operational aircraft programs – Advantage

• Willingness to travel abroad when required

The Engineering & Development Division leads the design and development of new unmanned aerial systems for global customers, while also supporting upgrades and capability enhancements for existing UAV fleets.

This role involves close collaboration with specialist engineering teams in structural analysis, fatigue and loads, thermal management, aerodynamics, electrical power systems, and landing gear design, as well as coordination with flight test engineers and operational stakeholders.

This is a highly multidisciplinary role that plays a key part in enabling new operational capabilities and ensuring the airworthiness and performance of advanced military UAV platforms.
