Role Description

In recent years, the Hebrew University has made significant efforts to develop and strengthen international academic ties with institutions and organizations across the Asia-Pacific region, with a strategic focus on India, China, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, and Australia. The role primarily focuses on initiating, developing, and strengthening international academic activities while expanding their scope in line with the University’s strategic objectives.

Leading the establishment of formal partnerships that advance academic collaboration in teaching and research, and maintaining existing international cooperation agreements between the Hebrew University and academic institutions in the Asia-Pacific region.

Promoting student recruitment from Asia.

Coordinating and supporting joint degree programs with academic institutions across the Asia-Pacific region.

• Initiating international collaboration projects, including ongoing communication with international partners and University stakeholders, preparation of background materials and progress reports, and related tasks.
• Promoting international mobility and international cooperation opportunities, including coordinating calls for applications for international programs and research partnerships, providing accessible information on funding and scholarships, and more.
• Representing the University in partnership discussions with various authorities and organizations.
• Representing the University at relevant events and fairs.
• Planning and accompanying visits and delegations.
• Additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Position Requirements:

• Academic degree. A master’s degree and/or a degree in Asian Studies is an advantage.
• Proven experience in developing academic relations and collaborations. Existing ties with the Asia-Pacific region are an advantage.
• Familiarity and/or experience with the higher education systems of India and China is an advantage.
• Native-level proficiency in Hebrew and English. Very good command of Asian languages, including written and oral communication skills, is an advantage.
• Full proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Project leadership skills, ability to mobilize and motivate people, initiative, excellent interpersonal skills, and strong service orientation.
• Independent learning ability and strong organizational skills.
• Willingness and ability to work additional and non-standard hours, as needed.

Scope: Full-time position

Additional Information:

• Employment under an individual contract, in accordance with the candidate’s qualifications.
• University employees may apply provided they have held their current University position for at least 11 months.
• Pursuant to the Certified Practical Engineers and Technicians Law, 5773–2012, employees holding a certified practical engineer or certified technician diploma may also apply for this position in lieu of an academic degree.
• Candidates will be required to pass an English proficiency test at the level required for the position.
• Candidates with an academic degree from abroad must attach confirmation from the Ministry of Education recognizing the degree.
