JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Ground Station Manager 

Spacecom is looking for an experienced RF Engineer Manage Spacecom’s Satellite Earth Stations.

The role includes responsibility for the station infrastructure, RF& antenna systems, transmission and reception chains, monitoring and control systems, coordination with satellite control centers, integration of advanced communication and networking equipment, and real-time troubleshooting.

You are expected to engage with subcontractors, customers, end users, partners and vendors, as well as all departments within the company.

Primary Responsibilities 

§ Manage, operate, monitor, and control GEO satellite ground stations

§ Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of  supporting infrastructure, RF systems and transmission/reception chains

§ Work with large earth station antennas, HPAs, LNBs, satellite modems, and IF/RF equipment

§ Analyze and resolve communication failures, RF interference, and service degradation issues

§ Execute testing, commissioning, and integration of new equipment and systems

§ Prepare technical reports, engineering documentation, and operational procedures

§ Participate in ground station deployment and upgrade projects

§ Provide support for operational activities when required

Who You Are?

§ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field – mandatory

§ Minimum of 5 years of experience in satellite communications or ground station operations – mandatory

§ Hands-on experience with GEO satellite communication systems

§ Strong knowledge of RF systems, IF chains, antennas, and satellite modems

§ Experience with Monitoring & Control systems – significant advantage

§ Familiarity with equipment from vendors such as: Comtech/UHP, iDirect, Newtec, Hughes, CPI / Vertex / GD Satcom

Others:

§ The position requires working on-site at the company’s Neve Ilan location on certain days of the week.

§ High-level technical English – mandatory

§ Ability to work independently in a multitasking environment

§ Proactive approach, with willingness to learn and grow

§ Strong communication and learning abilities

§ Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.

§ Willingness to travel internationally and work at remote customer sites (abroad)

Advantages

§ Previous work experience with Knowledge of broadcast systems, video compression, streaming, and multiplexing (VDCM, ZIXI and TAG systems)

§ Previous work experience with Knowledge of HUB’s systems (iDirect/GILAT/HNS)

§ Professional expertise in networking at CCNA level.

§ Familiarity with firewall concepts and operation (Fortinet, Cisco, Checkpoint).
