The Institute for Drug Research (IDR) houses a vibrant community of inventive scholars and scientists who are wholly dedicated to propelling the research, educational, and service endeavors of the School of Pharmacy. IDR's research focus is on unraveling the intricate molecular mechanisms underlying biological processes and disease pathologies, with a strong emphasis on employing medicinal, structural, and chemical methodologies to gain profound insights into the essence of form and function in medicine.

Role Description: This is a full-time, tenure-track faculty role at the Institute for Drug Research, based on-site at the Ein Karem campus in Jerusalem, Israel. The faculty member will conduct independent, high-quality research in a relevant area of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine and Pharmacy, including designing studies, securing funding, managing research teams, and publishing in peer-reviewed journals. Day-to-day responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, supervising student projects and theses. The role also involves active participation in departmental, faculty, and university committees, as well as collaboration with colleagues, industry, and healthcare partners. The successful candidate will contribute to the academic community through mentoring, outreach, and professional service while building a recognized research and teaching profile.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree (PhD) in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, biomedical sciences, or a closely related field.
• Priority will be given to those with research focused on artificial intelligence in medicine, with priority on pharmacy.
• Demonstrated research excellence, significant and productive experience in post-doctoral research on AI and its application in medicine and pharmacy.
• Experience in academic teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, with the ability to develop and deliver high-quality courses in pharmacy or related disciplines.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills applicable to experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation of scientific results.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English for teaching, grant writing, and scientific dissemination; ability or willingness to teach in additional languages is an advantage.
• Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams and contribute to a respectful, inclusive, and diverse academic environment.
• Commitment to ethical research practices, responsible conduct of research, and adherence to institutional and regulatory guidelines.
