Looking for Technical Writers – Defense Systems, Aerospace, Radar & RF Technologies

We're seeking experienced technical writers to join our team and contribute to projects involving defense and military systems, radar systems, RF and communications technologies, electronic warfare systems, aerospace platforms, unmanned systems (UAV/UAS), cybersecurity solutions, and advanced hardware products.

Availability of at least 20 hours per week is preferred.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of paid experience in a technical writing, technical publications, or related documentation role, reflected on your LinkedIn profile

• Fluent English proficiency, including the ability to write clear, professional, publication-quality technical documentation. Native English is not required.

• Proficiency with current technical writing tools and documentation environments, with strong experience in at least some of the following: Microsoft Word, online documentation platforms, Markdown, XML-based authoring environments, or structured documentation systems

• Experience producing accurate, high-quality technical documentation while maintaining confidentiality, technical accuracy, and adherence to customer, contractual, and security requirements

• Strong technical aptitude and curiosity about technology

• Working knowledge of one or more of the following domains: defense and military systems, weapons systems, radar systems, RF and communications technologies, electronic warfare systems, aerospace systems, unmanned systems (UAV/UAS), sensor technologies, electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) systems, command-and-control systems, or related technologies

• Ability to understand engineering specifications, technical procedures, system architectures, test documentation, and hardware/software interfaces

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong self-management skills and ability to work directly with subject matter experts with minimal oversight

• Collaborative mindset and interpersonal skills

• Willingness to learn new things, people, and environments

Bonus Qualifications

• Active security clearance, previous security clearance

• Experience with S1000D and S1000D authoring and publishing tools

• Experience working with organizations such as Rafael, Elbit Systems, Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), Aeronautics, Orbit, defense contractors, military organizations, or similar environments

• Hardware documentation, including assembly guides, installation manuals, maintenance procedures, service documentation, and operator manuals

• Experience documenting radar systems, RF and communications technologies, electronic warfare systems, unmanned systems, aerospace systems, sensor technologies, or weapons systems

• Experience developing operation manuals, maintenance manuals, installation guides, training materials, technical orders, technical publications, or field-service documentation

• Ability to read engineering drawings, system specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), schematics, and test procedures

• Familiarity with military standards, controlled documentation environments, or configuration management processes

• Most projects require regular on-site work at customer facilities.
