IT Operations & Systems Manager

Ben-Gurion University of the Negev is seeking an experienced Faculty IT Manager to lead the computing services and technical infrastructure of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. This role combines systems administration, IT operations, user support, website management, and team leadership in a dynamic academic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the faculty's computing infrastructure, including servers, software, workstations, and network-related services.
• Provide technical support and consulting to faculty members, administrative staff, and academic departments.
• Manage, maintain, and develop faculty and departmental websites.
• Oversee system backups, updates, and operational continuity.
• Support procurement processes and advise faculty members on computing equipment and technology solutions.
• Collaborate with the University's central IT division on infrastructure and technology initiatives.
• Lead and support the faculty's technical team.
• Develop automation and operational improvements to enhance IT services and efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience supporting and maintaining Windows, Linux, PC, Mac, and network environments.
• Experience administering Microsoft and Linux servers.
• Experience writing Bash and PowerShell scripts.
• Advantage: experience with Python, JavaScript, SQL, FileMaker, MySQL, and database administration.
• Advantage: experience leading teams and delivering training.
