Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior SAP Material Master Data to play a key role in scaling our global operations, strengthening data foundations, and enabling end-to-end business processes across manufacturing, supply chain, commercial, and finance domains.

The Senior SAP Material Master Data Expert will provide functional and data leadership for Material Master and related master data domains within SAP. This role focuses on defining data models, governing data processes, ensuring data quality, and enabling seamless interoperability across systems and business processes.

You will work closely with Global Process Owners, solution architects, and business stakeholders to ensure master data supports both day-to-day operations and large-scale transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage Material Master Data in SAP, acting as the subject-matter expert for this domain.
• Define, establish, and maintain material master standards, structures, and governance processes.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across all relevant systems.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, QA/RA, IT, Service, Customer Success, Support, Finance, and other teams to define and manage material-related data requirements.
• Work closely with Global Process Owners (GPOs) and solution architects to support business and transformation needs.
• Analyze data flows across the organization (materials, fulfillment, sales, finance, etc.).
• Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and integration issues between systems.
• Perform root cause analysis and drive both business and technical solutions.
• Improve interoperability between SAP and external systems (e.g. CRM, PLM, MDM platforms).
• Support commercial initiatives and transformation programs by enabling high-quality master data.
• Design and document business processes for ongoing data maintenance and governance.
• Actively contribute to improving SAP data infrastructure and reporting capabilities (e.g. BO).
• Acting as a Scrum team member in the Agile environment, bringing fast go-to-market solutions.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to master data analysts and other stakeholders.
• Serve as the first point of contact for material master data issues and escalations.
• Promote SAP best practices and a data-driven culture.
  
  

• Bachelor’s degree (BSc/BA) – required.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience as an SAP Material Master Data expert.
• Strong knowledge and experience with SAP MM – mandatory.
• Proven experience managing material master data in complex, global environments.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end processes such as PTM / Fulfillment – big advantage.
• Experience with CRM solutions (e.g. Salesforce (SFDC) – big advantage.
• Experience with MDM solutions such as Reltio – strong advantage.
• Knowledge of Agile methodology and instruments (Scrum, Jira, Confluence) – big advantage.
• Experience with PLM systems (e.g. Arena) – advantage.
• Knowledge of medical device regulatory standards – advantage.
• Experience with CPQ tools (e.g. Apttus) – advantage.
• Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work across multiple teams, manage priorities, and drive change.
• Fluent in English.
