ABCloudz is looking for an experienced Solutions Architect to work on customer engagements. The key activity is designing solutions to modernize existing legacy workloads to AWS, and ensuring their successful implementation. The focus is on the databases (e.g. getting off Oracle/SQL to PostgreSQL), but end-to-end solutions usually include application modernization (e.g. remediating application code, ETLs, reports, testing, DevOps).

Responsibilities

• Designing “future state” architecture for the existing customers’ legacy applications with intent to modernize and optimize in AWS.
• Working very closely with customers on understanding technical and business requirements and coming up with architectural design to satisfy their needs.
• Design and implement data architecture, data model, and data pipelines in relational, purpose-built databases and analytics AWS services (e.g. Aurora, RDS, Redshift, others).
• Work with other ABCloudz local and remote team members on design and implementation of solutions.
• Doing hands-on delivery and coding whenever needed.
• Supporting sales activity by providing subject matter expertise in various services in AWS.
• Travel requirements: up to 25% (on average about one week per month).
  
  

• Deep experience with designing and developing data solutions.
• Knowledge and expertise with at least one of the following DBMSs: Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Sybase, DB2.
• Understanding and experience with architecting and implementing data pipelines including ETL processes using platforms such as Informatica, Talend, SSIS, DataStage.
• Experience and expertise with designing, implementing and managing data models.
• Strong knowledge of AWS Data Platform including Aurora, RDS, Redshift, QuickSight, Athena, Kinesis, EMR, Elasticsearch, Glue, DynamoDB, DMS, and others.
• Good written and spoken English (Upper-Intermediate).
  
  

• Prior consulting experience.
• Experience working in a distributed environment.
• Willingness to learn and drive new technologies (e.g. ML/AI).
• Experience with database migration and application modernization engagements.
• AWS SA certification.
