Platform Team Leader

Primis is seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and charismatic Platform Team Leader to lead a cross-functional team of Frontend, Backend, and Fullstack engineers. Reporting directly to the VP of R&D, this role combines technical leadership, people management, and strategic thinking.

You'll have a rare opportunity to own the full technical direction of a platform that impacts top-tier publishers across different verticals worldwide, with direct visibility to VP-level leadership and real influence over how the team grows and evolves.

About the Role

As Platform Team Leader, you will be the driving force behind Primis' core management platform — a mission-critical system that oversees thousands of advertising assets, millions of videos, and serves as the central hub for both internal teams and external clients to manage campaigns and track results.

You'll balance strategic leadership with active, hands-on development (20–30%), bringing strong technical foundations across both backend and frontend. The team specializes in complex backend workflows, advanced algorithms, and media processing tooling- work that directly impacts millions of users worldwide.

Responsibilities

•  Lead & Develop People - Mentor and guide a team of 5 engineers, setting clear expectations, fostering accountability, and cultivating a collaborative, high-performance culture that supports both professional and personal growth.
•  Own Backend Architecture - Design and implement scalable backend systems, complex workflows, and data structures for the core management platform. Our tech stack includes PHP, React, MySQL, Redis, AWS Services, and managed databases such as OpenSearch and ElastiCache.
•  Drive Technical Excellence - Ensure the stability, scalability, and efficiency of heavy backend processes, and lead the development of advanced algorithms for video and content management.
• Shape the Roadmap - Translate high-level product vision into clear technical roadmaps and actionable execution plans, balancing business priorities with technical execution.
•  Champion AI Integration - Lead the adoption of AI tools into day-to-day development workflows and platform features to keep the team's approach sharp and forward-looking.
• Uphold Quality Standards - Partner with the QA team to establish effective testing strategies, maintain high code quality, and ensure a robust, reliable platform.

Requirements

•  BSc in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
•  At least 3 years of experience as a Backend or Full-Stack Team Leader - Must.
• Strong backend development background with solid understanding of client/server architecture, experience with PHP is an advantage.
•  Experience with client-side technologies, specifically React - a significant advantage.
•  Experience with algorithmic thinking and designing complex data workflows - background in media, video, or content systems is an advantage.
•  Familiarity with modern cloud infrastructure and managed services (AWS experience preferred); hands-on experience with technologies such as MySQL, Redis, OpenSearch, or similar.
• Hands-on experience incorporating AI tools into development workflows; experience deploying AI in production-grade applications is a strong advantage.
•  Proven ability to translate product vision into technical roadmaps and lead end-to-end delivery.
•  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and mentor engineers. English proficiency required.
•  Highly dedicated, with a can-do attitude, strong organizational skills, and sharp attention to detail.
