About SENSOREST:

SENSOREST is an early-stage, pre-seed startup developing a smart therapeutic wearable for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and sensory processing challenges. Our product combines physiological sensing, real-time edge AI, and adaptive haptic actuation based on Deep Pressure Therapy principles. The goal is to detect stress-related physiological patterns and provide calming, personalized deep-pressure feedback when the child needs it most.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a hands-on CTO to join SENSOREST as a core member of the founding team. This is an opportunity for someone excited by the challenge of building a complex hardware/software system from the ground up, integrating embedded systems, sensors, firmware, mobile, cloud, and AI into a single, meaningful product.

SENSOREST is currently at the pre-seed stage. At this point, compensation is equity-based, with the expectation that the role will transition into a full-time, salaried executive position once funding is secured.

What You’ll Do:

• System Architecture & Steering: Design the high-level end-to-end architecture (Hardware -> Firmware -> App -> Cloud) and guide its iterative development through an optimized mix of hands-on work and expert subcontractors.
• Algorithm & Core ML Strategy: Oversee and shape the core machine learning infrastructure for real-time physiological stress pattern detection, collaborating with domain specialists where needed.
• Hands-on Core Engineering: Drive early-stage embedded development and sensor integration (PPG, EDA, IMU) to solidify our prototype into a scalable MVP.
• Ecosystem & Vendor Management: Lead technical relationships with specialized value-chain partners, consultants, and manufacturing vendors (DFM/BOM) to bridge engineering gaps and prepare for scale.
• Technical Strategy & Roadmap: Make key technology decisions, evaluate critical trade-offs, and help map the company’s technical vision and long-term IP portfolio.
• Team Building & Culture: As a true co-founder, recruit, inspire, and gradually assemble a lean team of top-tier engineers and specialists as the company secures funding.

What You Bring:

• Proven hands-on experience in embedded systems, IoT, hardware, and firmware development.
• Strong background in C/C++, RTOS, BLE connectivity, and low-power device architecture.
• Experience working with biometric or physiological sensors such as PPG, EDA, IMU, respiration, or related sensing technologies.
• Ability to operate in a fast-moving, ambiguous startup environment where not everything is defined yet.
• A builder mindset: you are comfortable moving between architecture, code, debugging, hardware trade-offs, and hands-on experimentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to turn an ambitious technical vision into a practical development plan.
• Excitement to join as a long-term founding partner and take real ownership of the technology.

Nice to Have:

• Background in wearables, assistive technology, wellness tech, or HealthTech.
• Experience with edge AI, machine learning, or real-time signal processing.
• Familiarity with regulatory processes, safety standards, FDA/CE considerations, or clinical validation processes.
• Experience bringing hardware products from prototype to manufacturing.
