Laboratory Technician

Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Lab Operations & Infrastructure Engineer to manage day-to-day lab activities, support hardware bring-up, and maintain server and networking infrastructure. The role requires strong technical expertise in lab environments, hardware deployment, and system administration across Linux and Windows platforms.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lab Management & Operations

Manage daily lab operations to ensure high availability and optimal utilization of lab resources.

Coordinate with engineering teams for lab scheduling, access management, and resource allocation.

Track, manage, and maintain lab inventory, including boards, cables, racks, and test equipment.

Maintain documentation for lab assets, configurations, and utilization.

2. Racking, Stacking & Cabling

Install, rack, and stack servers, networking devices, and lab equipment as per defined standards.

Perform structured cabling, labeling, and maintain accurate rack layout documentation.

Ensure adherence to best practices for power distribution and cable management.

3. Board Bring-Up & Deployment

Execute initial bring-up of hardware boards and systems within lab environments.

Support engineering teams in debugging, testing, and validation of hardware platforms.

Deploy and configure boards for development, testing, and validation use cases.

4. Security, Asset & System Management

Install, configure, and troubleshoot Qualys for vulnerability management.

Manage asset inventory and CMDB updates through platforms such as Armis / ServiceNow (SNOW).

Ensure accurate tracking of all lab assets and compliance with governance processes.

5. Server Infrastructure Deployment & Support

Deploy, configure, and maintain compute, storage, and networking infrastructure.

Perform OS installations across Windows and multiple Linux distributions (Ubuntu, etc.).

Support firmware upgrades, patching, and system updates.

Monitor system health and perform first-level troubleshooting and issue resolution.

6. Lab Maintenance, Cleanliness & Compliance

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe lab environment.

Ensure compliance with ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and safety standards.

Manage decommissioning of obsolete equipment and ensure proper e-waste disposal per policy.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Hands-on experience in lab operations, hardware setup, and infrastructure support.

Strong knowledge of server hardware, networking devices, End user devices and rack infrastructure.

Experience with Linux (Ubuntu/variants) and Windows administration.

Familiarity with Qualys, ServiceNow (SNOW), Armis, or similar asset management tools.

Understanding of structured cabling, power management, and rack design.

Ability to troubleshoot hardware, OS, and connectivity issues.

Strong documentation and coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Exposure to data center or lab environment management.

Experience supporting engineering, validation, or testing labs.

Knowledge of networking fundamentals (L1/L2 troubleshooting).

Soft Skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced lab environment.

Detail-oriented with a focus on process adherence and compliance.
