Software Engineer II, Migration Center Core

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 1 year of experience with data structures or algorithms.
• 1 year of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages: Go, Java, C/C++, C#, Python
• Experience working with distributed and parallel systems, large software systems

Google Cloud Migration Center is a cloud service that helps enterprise customers accelerate their end-to-end cloud journey at scale from on-premises or cloud environments to Google Cloud. Migration Center allows customers to scan, assess, and estimate cloud costs for their existing infrastructure, and plan migration with opinionated guidelines for the migration of their applications and workloads.

The Migration Center Core develops and owns the shared infrastructure and elements of the Migration Center, enabling coordination and collaboration with many global teams’ components and services.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test new features. Maintain and improve our product. Research and understand various frameworks and technologies.
• Collaborate with other teammates and across job functions (e.g., product management, UX). Work closely with different teams developing other Migration Center components and services.
• Participate in the following areas of development include mostly Control plane with Data Plane challenges, backend business logic, and full development cycle including testing, qualifications, and CI/CD flows.
