Lead Systems Engineer

About the Role

The Missiles & Space Division is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to lead the engineering execution of advanced naval air defense system programs for international customers.

The systems developed as part of these projects represent the next generation of naval air defense capabilities. These complex systems integrate a family of surface-to-air missile interceptors, launch systems, radar systems, communication networks, command-and-control (C2) capabilities, and interfaces with naval platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering management and technical oversight of projects while serving as the primary engineering interface with customers.
• Define and manage system requirements derived from customer contracts and program documentation.
• Develop the overall system architecture and System-of-Systems (SoS) design.
• Author and maintain top-level system specifications and technical documentation.
• Lead multidisciplinary development, integration, verification, validation, and system demonstration activities.
• Drive the integration of air defense systems with naval platforms and subsystems supplied by some of the world’s leading defense organizations.
• Provide matrix leadership to systems engineering teams and coordinate engineering activities with subcontractors and external partners.
• Lead system performance analysis, development testing, and customer acceptance trials in Israel and internationally.
• Provide technical support for business development and marketing initiatives.
• Work closely with customers and subcontractors in both domestic and international environments.
• Participate in sea trials and onboard operational activities aboard vessels equipped with the systems.

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field – required.
• M.Sc. in Systems Engineering – advantage.
• At least 3 years of experience in Systems Engineering within complex System-of-Systems (SoS) development programs involving Command & Control (C2/C4I) systems and algorithm-intensive environments – required.
• Proven ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams in a matrix organization – required.
• Hands-on experience in technical documentation, requirements definition, and system performance analysis – required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Hebrew and English – required.
• Willingness to travel internationally – required.
• Familiarity with missile systems, weapon systems, air defense technologies, or related defense domains – significant advantage.
• Strong analytical skills, systems-thinking capabilities, independence, leadership qualities, and a results-oriented approach.
