Wireless Communications Systems Engineer

About the Role

The Engineering & Development Division within the Military Aircraft Group is seeking a Wireless Communications Systems Engineer to support the development, integration, and validation of advanced communication systems for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) platforms.

This role involves defining, designing, integrating, and testing wireless communication solutions that enable reliable line-of-sight (LOS) and beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) connectivity for advanced UAV systems. The position combines hands-on engineering work, laboratory integration activities, flight testing, and direct interaction with customers and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and specify wireless communication systems for both LOS (Line-of-Sight) and BLOS (Beyond-Line-of-Sight) operations.
• Prepare technical specifications and manage subcontractors responsible for communication system components, including participation in supplier acceptance testing.
• Define software requirements for communication system management and control applications.
• Participate in the establishment and operation of integration laboratories.
• Integrate and test communication hardware and management software to deliver end-to-end communication solutions.
• Plan and participate in flight tests to validate communication system performance.
• Analyze and investigate test results and system performance.
• Work directly with customers throughout project execution.
• Perform primarily office and laboratory-based work, with occasional field activities in Israel and at customer sites abroad.

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field – required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Wireless Communications Systems Engineer – required.
• Proven knowledge of LOS communications and/or satellite communications – required.
• Strong understanding of digital and analog communications, modulation techniques, modems, and encryption technologies – required.
• Knowledge of RF systems, including transmitters, amplifiers, and receivers – required.
• Experience with antennas, antenna arrays, and electromagnetic wave propagation – required.
• Fluent English communication skills (written, verbal, and reading) – required.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking – advantage.
