VP R&D

The VP R&D will lead the R&D organization end-to-end: defining the technology vision, building and scaling local and offshore engineering teams, and delivering high-quality products on time and within budget. As a member of the executive team, this role translates business strategy into a clear, executable technical roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategy & Tech Leadership: Own the R&D and technology strategy, driving innovation in modern web/app and AI solutions while contributing directly to company-wide planning.
• Team Building & Management: Hire, mentor, and scale high-performing, distributed teams across all engineering disciplines (Backend, Frontend, QA, DevOps) while fostering a culture of ownership.
• Execution & Delivery: Own the end-to-end execution of the R&D roadmap, refining development workflows (Agile, CI/CD) to ensure robust quality and on-time delivery.
• Architecture & Technology Standards: Oversee system architecture across parallel projects, ensuring systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with modern technology trends.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner tightly with internal stakeholders (Product, Operations, BD) to translate market and business needs into technical plans.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software development, including at least 5 years in R&D leadership roles (e.g., Head of Engineering, Director/VP R&D).
• Proven track record leading engineering teams and delivering multiple parallel projects.
• Strong hands-on technical background and experience with modern architectures (APIs, cloud-native, microservices, scalable web/app systems).
• Demonstrated ability to hire, grow, and retain strong engineering teams and leaders, including managing distributed/offshore teams.
• Experience implementing and scaling development processes, tooling, and quality practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Business orientation: able to prioritize and make trade-offs based on impact, cost and time-to-market.
• High level of English and Hebrew (written and spoken); experience working in international environments is an advantage.
