Role Description This is a full-time, on-site CAD & CAE Engineer role based in Sderot. The CAD & CAE Engineer will design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for advanced battery systems, ensuring they meet performance, thermal, safety, and manufacturability requirements. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining 3D models and 2D drawings, performing design iterations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams (R&D, thermal, electrical, and manufacturing) to integrate mechanical designs into complete battery modules and systems. The role involves running simulations and analyses, supporting design reviews, implementing engineering changes, and preparing documentation and BOMs for production. The engineer will also help optimize designs for cost, reliability, and compliance with relevant standards, while supporting prototyping, testing, and root-cause analyses of mechanical issues.
Qualifications

• Strong background in Mechanical Engineering with hands-on experience in Physical Design for electro-mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling and 2D drafting, including complex assemblies and detailed drawings.
• Experience with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) environments and workflows, with familiarity using Cadence or similar platforms.
• Ability to perform basic CAE/FEA analyses (e.g., structural, thermal, vibration) and interpret results to guide design decisions.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Experience in battery systems, energy storage, automotive, or other high-reliability hardware domains is an advantage.
• Comfort working in a lab and production environment, including supporting prototyping, testing, and design validation.
• Strong communication skills, ability to work on-site in multidisciplinary teams, and a structured, detail-oriented approach to documentation.
