The Role

This is for a hands-on builder ready for a true entrepreneurial journey. You won't live in Jira; you'll make architectural calls, ship production code, and raise the bar for the team. If you want to be a core pillar of a growing company and get into the trenches with us, you'll fit right here.

What You'll Do

• Lead & Mentor: Set the technical bar through code reviews, pairing, and clear design docs.
• Manage Offshore Teams: Establish and manage a dedicated offshore engineering team (e.g., in Ukraine) for a complementary product line. Define tasks, monitor execution, and ensure top-tier quality.
• Ship Backend Code: Work with our stack: TypeScript, Nest.js, Next.js, Prisma, PostgreSQL, SNS/SQS, and GitHub Actions.
• Design Distributed Systems: Build truly decoupled microservices with strict boundaries.
• Own AWS Production: Manage services on EKS (private-only, Karpenter-scaled), backed by RDS PostgreSQL, fronted by CloudFront, using Terraform + Terragrunt.
• Optimize Databases: Tune PostgreSQL at the query, index, and schema level (debug from EXPLAIN ANALYZE).
• Build AI-Native Features: Integrate context engineering and agentic workflows into real product surfaces.
• Set Engineering Standards: Drive high-coverage testing (Vitest), secure CI/CD pipelines, and a robust security posture.

What We're Looking For

• Entrepreneurial Mindset: Business acumen, a deep belief in our mission, and a willingness to take shared ownership of the company's success.
• Long-term Vision: Ready to invest hard work now for massive future rewards. Compensation includes a base salary + significant equity (options/shares).
• Track Record: Experience as a Senior Backend Engineer or Tech Lead. Managing offshore/remote teams is a major plus.
• Tech Stack Mastery: Deep Node.js / TypeScript experience with a heavy backend center of gravity.
• System Intuition: Strong grasp of distributed systems (queues, idempotency, retries, backpressure).
• Cloud & DB Infrastructure: Solid AWS chops (EKS, RDS, IAM, VPC) and PostgreSQL mastery (indexing, query plans, lock contention).
