System Engineer

A multidisciplinary technology startup is developing an advanced robotic system for high-precision polishing and processing of diamonds and other hard materials.

The company’s system combines robotics, motion control, optics, mechanics, computational algorithms, and surface analysis to solve complex precision-manufacturing challenges. The product is moving toward mass production, offering an opportunity to join a hands-on R&D environment at a meaningful stage of product maturity.

Responsibilities

• Support system-level development of a multidisciplinary robotic platform for high-precision polishing and processing of hard materials.
• Translate product and process requirements into system requirements, specifications, interfaces, and validation plans.
• Work closely with mechanical, optical, algorithm, motion, and hardware teams to integrate system components into a complete product.
• Support system bring-up, integration, testing, debugging, and performance validation.
• Analyze system behavior, identify technical gaps, and drive cross-disciplinary problem solving.
• Work with algorithm and motion teams on surface-analysis and motion-related challenges, including iterative improvement of polishing results.
• Coordinate technical work with subcontractors and support transition from R&D to mass production.

Required Qualifications

• B.Sc. or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Electro-Optics, Robotics, or a related engineering field
• Experience in multidisciplinary system engineering involving mechanics, optics, motion systems, hardware, algorithms, or robotics
• Strong ability to understand and integrate complex systems across several engineering disciplines
• Hands-on experience with system integration, testing, debugging, and validation
• Ability to define requirements, interfaces, specifications, and test plans.
• Experience working with precision systems, motion systems, robotics, machine vision, optical systems, or high-accuracy industrial equipment
• Experience supporting transition from development to production / mass production
