Software Department Manager

A leading medical imaging company is developing and producing advanced cardiovascular and cardiothoracic CT systems based on innovative imaging technologies.

This is an opportunity to join a multidisciplinary R&D environment working on complex, high-performance medical systems that combine software, real-time applications, reconstruction algorithms, DevOps, hardware, system engineering, product, and QA.

The role is based in Caesarea and offers a hybrid work model.

Responsibilities

• Manage a software department of approximately 15 engineers, including 2–3 team leads.
• Provide technical and architectural leadership across Host, Real-Time, Reconstruction, and DevOps domains.
• Own end-to-end software execution, including planning, delivery, quality, and timelines.
• Lead hiring, onboarding, mentoring, performance management, and professional development.
• Drive engineering standards, code quality, software architecture, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary R&D teams, including system engineering, product, hardware, and QA.
• Ensure alignment with quality processes and regulatory requirements in a medical device environment.

Required Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent – must.
• 10+ years of hands-on software development experience – must.
• 5+ years of engineering management experience – must.
• Proven experience managing software teams in complex multidisciplinary environments – must.
• Strong background in software architecture and system-level design – must.
• High technical credibility with the ability to lead and mentor senior engineers.
• Experience working with high-performance, real-time, medical imaging, or advanced system environments.
• High level of English; Hebrew fluency – advantage / must, depending on client requirement.
