Hardware Design Engineer

CI Systems has been a worldwide supplier of a wide range of electro-optical test and measurement equipment for nearly four decades.

We are looking for a Hardware Design Engineer to join our engineering team and take a key role in the design and development of advanced electronic systems and board-level hardware.

This role involves hands-on hardware design from concept to production, including microcontroller-based control boards, digital and analog circuitry, communication interfaces, video systems, motion and temperature control, and system-level integration. The engineer will work closely with software, manufacturing, and test teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop hardware boards based on microcontrollers, from concept through production
• Design analog and digital circuits, including communication interfaces, signal processing, and control circuitry
• Develop and integrate control systems for motion, temperature, and video applications
• Program and maintain microcontrollers, with exposure to programmable devices (FPGA/CPLD – an advantage)
• Collaborate with software, test, and manufacturing teams for board bring-up, debugging, and production transfer

Requirements

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 4+ years of hands-on hardware design experience.
• Strong experience in hardware design of microcontroller-based systems, including PCB and schematic design
• Solid experience in analog circuit design (signal conditioning, interfacing, and mixed-signal systems)
• Knowledge of communication protocols (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C, CAN) and system-level debugging
