Software Engineering Team Lead

Pango is looking for an Engineering Team Lead to join our Growth Team and lead the development of some of our most impactful customer-facing platforms, serving millions of users across Israel.

The team owns key business domains, including subscriptions, benefits, and loyalty programs, driving products that directly impact customer engagement and company growth.

What You'll Do:

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers, both local and offshore.
• Own the team's execution, delivery, and technical direction.
• Serve as a hands-on technical leader who actively contributes to the codebase, conducts code reviews, and drives development tasks end-to-end from design to production.
• Drive cross-functional initiatives and collaborate with Product, Data, and Business stakeholders.
• Design, build, and operate scalable, highly available production systems.
• Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and engineering excellence.
• Lead AI development cycle and modern engineering practices across the team.

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years of hands-on backend development experience.
• 2+ years of experience leading engineering teams.
• Proven experience building and operating distributed systems at scale in cloud environments.
• Experience leading architectural transformations, including migration from monolithic to modern distributed architectures.
• Experience designing and building new systems from scratch.
• Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate software development and engineering workflows (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, AI coding assistants, or other AI-powered development tools).
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A growth mindset and passion for developing people.
• Fluent in both Hebrew and English.

Nice to Have

• AWS experience.
• Python development experience.
