Mechanical Design Engineer – Electronic Packaging

We are seeking a highly accomplished and senior-level Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in Electronic Packaging to join the Mechanical Engineering department of a leading Defense company. In this role, you will take engineering ownership of complex hardware development projects, from initial estimation and design constraints to mass production and client delivery.

• End-to-End Packaging Design: Lead the mechanical packaging design of complex electronic enclosures/boxes, establishing layout specifications, mechanical ICDs, and advanced cooling methodologies.
• PCB Mechanical Integration: Drive the mechanical design of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and card assemblies utilizing the IDF method.
• Project & Lifecycle Management: Lead development projects from early pricing phases through subcontractor management and manufacturing, orchestrating professional Design Reviews (PDR/CDR).
• Analysis & Configuration Control: Review and interpret structural, thermal, and dynamic FEA reports, while managing active hardware configuration changes (ECO/CM) across the product lifecycle.

• Education: B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering – Mandatory.
• Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven, hands-on experience specializing in Electronic Packaging, heat transfer/thermal management, and structural strength calculations – Mandatory.
• Standards & Regulations: Comprehensive and proven familiarity with military environmental standards, specifically MIL-STD-810 – Mandatory.
• Manufacturing Knowledge: Deep, technical understanding of diverse production technologies, including CNC machining, castings, and sheet metal bending – Mandatory.
• Systems Engineering Alignment: Practical experience in developing, writing, and controlling technical requirements for complex, multi-disciplinary systems – Mandatory.

• Technical expertise in RF component packaging and familiarity with specialized antenna standards.
• Proficient, advanced working knowledge of Siemens NX CAD software.
• Prior experience with NPI (New Product Introduction) and serial manufacturing deployment workflows.
• Master’s Degree (M.Sc.) in Mechanical or Systems Engineering.
