Sr. AI Researcher, Medtech

Our amazing client is looking for a Senior AI Researcher to join its research team and help shape the future of AI-driven surgical planning.

At the crossroads of AI, medical imaging, and 3D design, they develop an AI-powered platform that converts CT and MRI scans into detailed 3D visualizations, enabling surgeons to plan procedures and generate personalized implants and surgical tools within minutes. The platform is already used in hundreds of real-world surgeries and is backed by leading investors and strategic partners.

This is a highly research-oriented role for someone who enjoys exploring state-of-the-art methods, designing novel solutions to challenging problems, and advancing the technology itself. You’ll tackle challenges at the core of medical innovation: segmentation, landmark detection, Image registration, 2D to 3D modeling, AI-assisted surgical workflows, advanced analysis, parametric 3D design, and much more.

What you'll do

• Research, evaluate, and introduce state-of-the-art approaches in computer vision, deep learning, and medical imaging.
• Drive research initiatives from concept through experimentation, validation, and integration into the product.
• Design, implement, and validate parametric 3D algorithms for patient-specific instruments and implants.
• Continuously explore emerging research and translate cutting-edge ideas into real-world capabilities.
• Work closely with the Head of R&D to shape the company's long-term research direction.
• Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and medical experts to bring research breakthroughs into clinical workflows.
• Contribute to a wide range of research domains, including computer vision, 3D geometry, biomechanics, optimization, simulation, and generative design.

What we are looking for

• 7+ years of experience in AI, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or related research fields.
• Strong background in Deep Learning, Computer Vision, and Python.
• Proven ability to take a research idea from paper → POC → production, including experimentation design, ablations, and rigorous validation.
• Strong experimental design skills and a research-driven mindset.
• Demonstrated ability to independently investigate open-ended technical problems.
• Track record of publications, patents, or significant research contributions.
• Experience reading, evaluating, and implementing state-of-the-art research.

Strong Advantages

• PhD in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, AI, Medical Imaging, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
• Publications in leading conferences or journals such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, MICCAI, NeurIPS, ICML, or ICLR.
• Experience with medical imaging, segmentation, registration, anatomical modeling, or 3D reconstruction.
• Experience with 3D geometry, computational modeling, biomechanics, or generative design.
