English Language Teacher, Higher Education

The Unit of English as a Foreign Language at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem is seeking qualified English language teachers for part-time and full-time positions.

We are looking for dedicated, professional educators with strong pedagogical skills and experience

teaching a foreign language in higher education settings.

Expected start date: October 2026. 

Location: Jerusalem-based campuses 

Requirements:  

• MA or PhD in TESOL or a related field, along with formal teaching certification in English language teaching
• Experience teaching English in higher education 
• Familiarity with CEFR / EPIC / EMI frameworks 
• Experience with CEFR-aligned teaching and assessment      
• Completion of Mofet professional development course “From EAP to EPIC”

Professional qualities: 

• Ability to plan dynamic, interactive, rigorous, and engaging lessons
• Ability to cater to mixed-level classrooms
• Ability to use AI tools effectively and pedagogically in language learning contexts 
• Ability to interact with individual students in a punctual, courteous, and positive manner
• Ability to work collaboratively within a teaching team
• Ability to cultivate positive learning experiences for diverse student populations
