Network & Information Security Specialist (Academic Degree Required)

Job Description & Responsibilities:

• Network Security Management: Installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of the organization’s nationwide Firewall deployment.
• Architecture & Implementation: Designing, implementing, and deploying infrastructure-technological solutions for cyber defense, integrating technical infrastructures and defense methodologies. Designing a secure network architecture tailored to organizational needs and evolving cyber threats.
• Technology Assessment: Evaluating defense technologies and products, and integrating them into existing computing infrastructures, including storage arrays, backup methods, and disaster recovery (DR) protocols.
• Systems Hardening: Writing hardening and defense documentation for various network components, including operating systems, databases, communication networks, applications, storage arrays, endpoints, and encryption.
• Monitoring & Incident Response: Designing monitoring, supervision, and alert systems tailored for the Security Operations Center (SOC). Providing technical and procedural support during cyber security incidents.
• Troubleshooting: Analyzing and resolving complex network and information security issues using Firewall management tools.
• Providing communication security services for computer systems across both Data Centers and remote edge sites.

1. Professional Experience:

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in Firewall management, including nationwide installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance.
• At least 3 years of experience in architecture, hardening, and designing cyber defense systems as described in the job responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge and familiarity with the System domain as part of providing network security support.
• Proven ability to analyze and resolve integrated network/security faults using Firewall management systems.

2. Education (Must meet at least one of the following criteria):

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc./B.A.) in one of the following fields: Computer Science / Information Systems / Software Engineering / Computer Engineering / Electronic Engineering / Exact Sciences (as a major, minor, specialization, or combined degree).
• OR: Any other academic degree, supplemented by recognized professional training/certifications in cyber defense totaling at least 300 cumulative hours.
• OR: Alumni of an IDF technological unit (Mamram, 8200, Teleprocessing Corps, or equivalent units), provided they were directly engaged in the relevant technological field (subject to providing proper official documentation).

3. Additional Requirements:

• Successfully passing a security background check to obtain a "Restricted" ("Shamour") classification by Mekorot’s Security Division (a mandatory condition for employment).
