The Role

You'll be one of the first engineers on the team, building the core system that powers every call. You'll own features end-to-end across the stack — from the zero-latency voice pipeline to the behavioral intelligence layer that reads and adapts to the person on the line. High autonomy, a direct line to the founder, and your code in production within days, not quarters.

What You'll Work On

• Real-time, zero-latency voice pipelines — speech-to-text → reasoning → text-to-speech loops where every 100ms is the difference between human-grade and robotic. Streaming, barge-in, interruption handling.
• The behavioral intelligence layer — real-time analysis of intonation, semantics, and behavioral patterns to read the psychological state of the person on the line and adapt strategy mid-conversation.
• Multi-agent orchestration — coordinating reasoning, persuasion logic, and tool use across an autonomous conversation with no human in the loop.
• The inference engine & closed-loop learning — post-call analysis pipelines that feed insights back into the system to improve the next conversation.
• Telephony & integrations — connecting to phone networks and directly into customers' CRMs and core systems (inbound + outbound).
• Security & compliance — building to bank-grade standards: end-to-end encryption, full audit trails, voice biometric auth, and anti-spoofing.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years building and shipping production software (real users, real traffic — not tutorials or side projects)
• Strong backend engineering in Node.js / TypeScript; comfortable in React when frontend work is needed
• Has used LLM APIs in production — ideally agentic patterns (tool use, multi-step reasoning), not just chatbot wrappers
• Comfortable owning a problem and shipping without detailed specs handed to you
• Thrives in a fast, iterative, low-process environment

Nice to Have

• Real-time / low-latency systems — WebRTC, audio streaming, event-driven architectures
• Telephony / VoIP experience (SIP, Twilio, or similar)
• Background in speech, audio ML, or signal processing
• Experience with data pipelines feeding ML/analytics loops
• Security or regulated-industry experience (encryption, audit, compliance)
• Early-stage startup or early-hire experience
