The Opportunity

At Agoda, Platform Engineering is central to how we scale software development across our R&D organization. The team builds and operates the shared systems, automation, and internal platforms that improve developer productivity, strengthen security, and increase the reliability and efficiency of software delivery across the company.

As a Senior Lead Software Engineer, Platform, you will play a key role in shaping the technical direction of Agoda’s platform ecosystem. You will lead large-scale, high-impact initiatives across developer infrastructure, automation, and internal platforms, while influencing architecture, engineering standards, and long-term platform strategy across teams.

In this Role, you’ll get to:

• Define and drive technical direction for critical platform engineering domains across Agoda
• Lead the design and evolution of large-scale platform systems supporting CI/CD, developer tooling, internal platforms, and security automation
• Deliver high-impact platform initiatives that improve engineering productivity, operational reliability, and software delivery at scale
• Drive the development of self-service internal tools and platforms that enable teams to move faster with confidence
• Act as a senior technical leader across architecture, scalability, resilience, operability, and platform strategy
• Partner with senior stakeholders across engineering, infrastructure, and security to align technical investments with organizational priorities
• Raise the bar for platform engineering through strong technical judgment, architectural guidance, and engineering best practices
• Mentor senior engineers and foster technical growth across the broader engineering organization
• Anticipate future platform needs and proactively drive investments that support Agoda’s scale and complexity
  
  

What you’ll Need to Succeed:

• Deep experience in Software Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering, including substantial experience operating at a senior technical leadership level
• Proven track record of designing and delivering large-scale, business-critical platform systems
• Strong hands-on experience across the full software development lifecycle, from architecture and implementation to deployment and operations
• Expert coding skills in a modern programming language, preferably Python or Go
• Deep expertise with developer ecosystem tooling such as Git, CI systems, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Strong architectural skills in designing highly available, fault-tolerant, scalable, and secure systems
• Strong Linux systems knowledge and production operations experience
• Proven ability to lead cross-team technical initiatives and influence direction across a broad engineering organization
• Excellent communication, mentoring, and technical leadership skills
• A passion for building platforms that enable engineering teams to work more effectively at scale
  
  

It’s Great if you have:

• Experience with configuration management tools, preferably Ansible
• Experience building and scaling internal developer platforms, preferably with React.js and Go
• Experience with OpenStack
• Experience with container orchestration, preferably Kubernetes
• Experience with HashiCorp tools such as Consul and Vault
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and MSSQL
