Field Integration Engineer - UAV Systems

Sightec is developing next-generation visual autonomy and navigation systems for UAVs operating in GPS-denied environments.

As autonomous drone capabilities become a growing operational need worldwide, our technology is gaining strong traction across defence and HLS sectors, with systems already integrated and deployed in real-world environments.

We’re a small, hands-on team working closely across software, algorithms, product, and field operations. People here wear multiple hats, solve real-world problems together, and stay closely connected to how the product performs outside the lab.

We are looking for a UAV Systems Integration Engineer with at least 3 years of professional UAV operation experience.

This is a highly practical, field-driven role combining UAV integration, customer-facing technical work, flight testing, troubleshooting, and real operational deployment.

This role sits at the intersection of field activity, customer needs, and product development - working closely with customers, software, algorithms, and hardware teams to bring systems from integration to real-world deployment.

The role includes system integration with customers, understanding operational needs, supporting live demonstrations and field experiments, investigating technical issues, and helping translate real-world feedback into product improvements and future system capabilities.

You will also take part in hardware integration, assembly, testing, and validation processes, while supporting deployment considerations such as packaging, thermal constraints, and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead UAV integrations and deployments with customers in Israel and abroad

• Plan and execute flight tests, field experiments, and live demonstrations

• Operate and validate UAV systems in real operational environments

• Troubleshoot technical issues and analyze system behavior in the field

• Work closely with software, algorithm, and hardware teams on integrations and product improvements

• Assemble, test, and validate company systems and hardware

• Translate operational and customer needs into technical feedback and future capabilities

• Represent Sightec during customer meetings, demos, and field activities

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional UAV operation experience - mandatory

• Proven hands-on experience with UAV integration, testing, and troubleshooting

• Experience working with flight controllers and mission software

(Advantage: ArduPilot, PX4, QGC, Mission Planner)

• Strong technical understanding of hardware and software integration

• Practical problem-solving and analytical skills

• Collaborative and proactive approach

• Ability to work independently in dynamic field environments

• Strong communication skills and customer-facing mindset

• Very good English - written and spoken

• Experience in defence, HLS, or industrial UAV environments - advantage

The position requires proven hands-on experience in UAV operation and integration - not just familiarity with drones.
