As a Qualcomm ASIC Engineer, you will define, model, design (digital and/or analog), optimize, verify, validate, implement, and document IP (block/SoC) development for a variety of high performance, high quality, low power world class products. Qualcomm Engineers collaborate with cross-functional groups to determine product execution path.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.

Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field.

We are seeking an experienced Senior System Validation Engineer to join our System & SV group and take a key role in validating next-generation coherent DSP chips for advanced optical transceiver modules used in hyperscale data centers. You will lead end-to-end validation activities, define methodologies, work closely with architecture/FW/ASIC teams, and directly influence the quality and performance of our high-speed silicon.

What You Will Do

Silicon & System-Level Validation

• Lead validation of coherent DSP features, algorithms, and system flows across full operating conditions (temperature, voltage, corner silicon).
• Plan, design, and execute validation test plans for high-speed optical links.
• Develop automated validation environments (Python/SCPI/Lab tools) and regression frameworks.
• Validate DSP performance.
• Characterize SerDes behavior, signal integrity, and analog/digital blocks across corners.
  
  

Module & System Integration

• Validate complete module functionality, including coherent optics, drivers, TIAs, host interfaces, and control paths.
• Debug system bottlenecks across DSP, FW, MACsec, and optical components.
• Collaborate with FW, RTL, Optical Engineering, and Algorithms teams to resolve issues.
  
  

Test Infrastructure & Tools

• Define and develop automated setups using instruments such as:
• BERT ONT, G800/ARESONE.
• High-speed oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
• Environmental chambers (temperature cycling).
  
• Own continuous regression, log analysis, and KPI monitoring.
  
  

Debug & Failure Analysis

• Lead root-cause analysis across multiple domains: digital design, FW, optics, analog PHY, and packaging.
• Work with ASIC and FW teams to provide corrective actions and design improvements.
  
  

What You Will Need

• Graduates from Ben-Gurion University, Tel Aviv University, or the Technion.
• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on silicon/system validation experience in high-speed communication chips or optical modules.
• Strong lab experience with high-speed test equipment (BER testers, scopes, VNAs, etc.).
• Proficient in Python for automation.
• Strong understanding of:
• SerDes, DSP algorithms for coherent systems, CTLE/FFE/DFE/EQ.
• High-speed communication standards (400G/800G, Ethernet, PCS/FEC).
• Signal integrity, jitter, noise, and analog characterization.
  
• Proven ability to lead validation tasks end-to-end and mentor junior engineers.
  
  

Preferred

• Experience with coherent optical modules.
• Experience with DSP or ASIC bring-up on ATE/production testers.
• Familiarity with MACsec, security engines, or host interfaces.
• Background working in fast-paced startup environments.
