Embedded Automation Engineer

A leading semiconductor company that develops security, control, and management solutions for cloud servers, enterprise PCs, and storage systems is looking for an experienced Linux Test Automation Developer.

This role focuses on end-to-end validation of Embedded Linux systems and BMC firmware, operating at the critical intersection of hardware and software for next-generation silicon products.

Key Responsibilities

• Automation Environment Design: Develop, maintain, and execute automated QA environments specifically tailored for Embedded Linux kernel and BMC firmware.
• Automation & Validation: Design and implement automated validation tests for the Linux kernel, drivers, and user-space components.
• Deep-Dive Analysis: Perform comprehensive system performance, stability, and stress analysis on embedded platforms.
• Advanced Debugging: Analyze system failures, debug kernel and user-space issues, and provide detailed root cause analysis.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with software development, firmware, hardware, and system teams throughout the product lifecycle.

Core Requirements

• Education: B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent technical field.
• Programming Skills: Strong proficiency in C/C++ with at least 5 years of hands-on experience.
• Linux & Kernel Expertise: Solid experience with Linux user-space applications (server-side is a plus) and practical experience testing Linux kernel-level components (drivers, kernel modules, boot process).
• Embedded Systems: Proven experience working with embedded systems, boards, chips, and low-level hardware interfaces.

Key Advantages (Nice to Have)

• Familiarity with BMC architectures and standards (e.g., OpenBMC, IPMI, Redfish).
• Experience working with the Yocto build environment.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment (e.g., logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, JTAG).
• Strong debugging skills using advanced Linux tools such as gdb, strace, ftrace, perf, and kernel logs.
