Software Team Lead

A global provider of cloud-native network intelligence and service assurance solutions is building out a new R&D site in Northern Israel. The team develops high-performance telecom protocol processing and analytics that provide real-time visibility for large mobile network operators (4G/5G/IMS).

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (future Team Lead track) to lead and contribute hands-on to the development of protocol-processing components in modern C++ on Linux, with a strong emphasis on performance, scalability, and reliability.

This role is designed for a senior engineer with strong technical depth who does not yet have management experience but is motivated and ready to grow into a team leadership position over time.

You will play a key role in technical design and implementation, collaborate closely with experienced engineers, and gradually take ownership of mentoring, driving design decisions, and leading execution in a growing R&D environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers; set engineering standards and best practices (as part of growth into leadership)

• Design and implement high-performance protocol processing components in modern C++

• Analyze and implement telecom protocols (e.g., GTP, Diameter, SIP, PFCP, HTTP/2, NAS)

• Build software for high-throughput probes and analytics pipelines; optimize for latency and throughput

• Conduct design and code reviews; ensure code quality, scalability, and reliability

• Take increasing ownership of technical leadership responsibilities over time

Requirements

• BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field

• 3+ years of experience in C++ software development

• Strong experience with modern C++ (C++11 and above)

• Experience with multi-threaded, high-performance systems – advantage

• Experience developing on Linux

• Strong networking knowledge & experience with telecom EPC, 5GC, IMS protocols such as: GTP, Diameter, SIP, PFCP, HTTP/2, RTP etc.
