Software Engineering Intern- Ecosystem Engineering - Special projects (Ra’anana office, Israel)

Job Summary

The Red Hat Software Engineering, part of the CTO office, team is looking for a highly motivated student who can join us in the Raanana office and who wants to gain hands-on experience with open source and Red Hat products. In this role, you will work with diverse projects using different programming languages, frameworks and environments. What You Will Do

• Play an active role in one or more of the projects: Data Center Management, x2ansible, cost management on prem or OpenShift migration advisor
• Contribute to new feature development by building, testing, bug-fixing and designing; contribute to open source projects in Golang, Python or TypeScript
• Familiarity with continuous integration (CI) flows
• Work with upstream communities/partners or customers to improve Red Hat driven open source projects or products
  
  

What Will You Bring

• Experience in development in Golang, Python or TypeScript
• Familiarity with linux containers and OpenShift or Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Experience with the Linux operating system
• Interest in learning new technologies; problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work equally well as an individual contributor or as a team member
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English
• Must be enrolled in an accredited university program in Israel during the whole duration of the internship and eligible to begin a full-time role in 2027 or 2028
• Must be available for the internship from August 2026 till July 2027
  
  

The Following Are Considered a Plus

• Familiarity with virtualization, networking or storage technologies
• Previous code contributions to or participation in open source projects or code samples on GitHub.
• Understanding of distributed systems, design patterns and clean code practices
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) for code generation and intelligent suggestions to accelerate development cycles and enhance code quality.
