Job Summary

Palo Alto Networks is looking for a Senior Principal Cloud FinOps Analyst to join its Israeli site as Cloud Infrastructure FinOps. We’re looking for a person to lead the financial operations within our innovative SaaS cybersecurity product environment. This role demands a blend of business acumen and technical expertise, as you will be responsible for optimizing cloud costs and driving financial accountability and analytics in close alignment with our engineering and finance teams.

You must be equally adept at crafting and delivering clear and compelling analyses and recommendations to executives on cost growth projections and optimizations, as much as being hands on and developing the tools and capabilities to do rapid analysis of cost drivers.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for cost optimization and financial efficiency in our cloud infrastructure.
• Work closely with engineering, product management, and DevOps teams to align financial operations with business objectives.
• Oversee the financial aspects of our large-scale GCP cloud service, as well as other cloud providers, ensuring optimal expenditure.
• Develop and monitor critical success metrics, and communicate actionable insights.
• Lead the integration of financial considerations into the development lifecycle, establishing cost-related metrics and accountability.
• Developing tools and capabilities to track and analyze detailed cloud hosting costs and gross margin trends by customers to identify and recommend areas of opportunity to improve margins.
• Create comprehensive financial reports and dashboards for various stakeholders, including senior management, highlighting key financial metrics and insights.
• Drive initiatives for automating financial reporting and cost optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a balance between cost efficiency and technological innovation and improve product architecture in a way that will help identify the drivers of the various costs components.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant technical experience in Cloud technologies (preferably GCP) and overseeing large cloud infrastructure budgets for SaaS technology companies is a must.
• Demonstrated experience managing financial governance and optimization across at least two major cloud providers (preferably GCP and AWS). Expertise in cost optimization within containerized environments is a must.
• Analytical problem-solver with the ability to gather, analyze and synthesize large amounts of data in order to drive effective and efficient executive decision-making. Experience in SQL is a must. Experience in Tableau and BI tools preferred.
• Experience forecasting and managing the consumption costs of large language models (LLMs) and autonomous AI agent workloads preferred.
• Experience with cloud billing APIs and modern FinOps platforms, and a proven experience in highly automated, enterprise-level reporting.
• Extensive experience building integrated models from scratch with an ability to build enterprise level infrastructure plans, both near-term operational and forward conceptual.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed organizational structure.
• Go-getter mindset with desire and demonstrated ability to maintain high-performance under tight timelines with a “roll-up sleeves mindset”.
• Exceptional presentation/leadership skills, concise and fluent in communication.
