Information Technology System Engineer

About the role

We're hiring a System Engineer for our Dream Team — the technical core of the company. You'll own the design, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of IT infrastructure for our clients, with a strong focus on cloud, hybrid environments, and information security, working directly with senior stakeholders on the client side.

This isn't a ticket-closing role. This is for someone who takes end-to-end ownership of infrastructure, leads projects from scoping to handover, and works with clients as a technical partner.

What you'll do

• Manage and maintain client IT infrastructure — on-prem servers (Windows/Linux), networks, virtualization, and hybrid environments synchronized with the cloud
• Microsoft 365 administration — Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Entra ID, hybrid identity and Exchange setups
• Information security — EDR/XDR platforms (Sophos, SentinelOne, CrowdStrike), firewalls (Sophos, Fortinet), VPN, segmentation, policy design, and incident response
• Backup and recovery — infrastructure backups (Acronis) and M365 SaaS backups (Keepit), including retention strategy and tested restores
• Lead projects end-to-end — scoping, planning, execution, handover. Cloud migrations, new infrastructure rollouts, office relocations, security platform deployments
• Direct client engagement — status meetings, technical consulting, solution presentations, leading technical discussions with decision-makers
• Proactive monitoring and incident handling via our RMM/PSA platform (Atera)
• Professional documentation of client environments in SharePoint, so any team member can pick up where you left off
• Participate in an on-call rotation for infrastructure escalations (details discussed in the interview)

What we're looking for

Technical experience:

• Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP
• Virtualization (VMware / Hyper-V)
• Microsoft 365 administration — Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID. Experience with hybrid environments is a strong advantage
• Backup solutions — Acronis and/or Keepit are a significant plus
• Network and endpoint security — Firewall, VPN, segmentation, EDR/XDR. Experience with Sophos, Fortinet, SentinelOne, or CrowdStrike is a strong advantage
• Familiarity with RMM/PSA platforms (Atera, ConnectWise, Datto) — a plus
