R&D Team Lead

An enterprise software company that develops a multi-billion dollar Revenue Intelligence platform powered by artificial intelligence to analyze commercial B2B sales interactions.

The company operates a massive, scaling global infrastructure with a large, established engineering and research presence in Israel.

The company is located in Ramat Gan (accessible via both the train and light rail networks) and operates on a hybrid model of two days office-based.

Position Overview-

• Backend Engineering Team Lead managing a core team of 3–5 software developers, reporting directly to an R&D Director.
• Balancing engineering leadership and team development with 40%–50% hands-on architectural and backend code contribution.
• Owning the lifecycle, execution, and delivery of two core foundational products: Data Source management and high-scale Runtime infrastructure.
• Designing and implementing distributed backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and Kubernetes within AWS environments.
• Providing architectural solutions, automation tools, monitoring systems, and data-sourcing management frameworks for application teams.

Key Responsibilities-

• Leading, mentoring, and driving technical excellence within an agile backend development team.
• Designing, developing, and deploying highly available, horizontally scalable backend microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Building automation frameworks and internal management tools to streamline heavy data-sourcing processes.
• Managing containerized infrastructure abstractions over Kubernetes and designing data layers utilizing PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and OpenSearch.
• Establishing robust observability, system monitoring, and performance-tuning workflows for production infrastructure on AWS.

Requirements-

• 8 years of professional software engineering experience centered on complex backend systems (Mandatory).
• 2 years of formal experience in engineering management or software team leadership (Mandatory).
• Production-grade development proficiency using Java or Kotlin (Mandatory).
• Extensive hands-on experience building distributed systems with the Spring or Spring Boot ecosystem (Mandatory).
• Experience with cloud architecture (AWS), container orchestration (Kubernetes), or high-scale relational and non-relational databases is a distinct advantage.
