Position Overview-

• Software Engineering Director, reporting directly to the CTO.
• Direct, flat management of 8–10 developers.
• Combines strategic software leadership and architectural definition with a minor hands-on component.
• Building Python-based backend systems and control infrastructure.
• Working closely with hardware, physics, and algorithm teams to integrate hardware-software stacks.

Key Responsibilities-

• Leading the software domain and directly managing a flat team of 8–10 software engineers.
• Owning the company’s software development strategy, architectural design, and engineering best practices.
• Maintaining a minor, targeted hands-on contribution to the codebase over time.
• Overseeing the development of high-performance backend infrastructure, parallel processing pipelines, and diagnostic control systems.
• Collaborating with physicists, hardware engineers, and algorithm researchers to bridge software layers with physical hardware components.

Requirements-

• 3+ years of experience in engineering management or software team leadership (Mandatory).
• Strong, hands-on backend development background in Python within Linux environments (Mandatory).
• Proven experience working within multidisciplinary environments, bridging software with hardware, chips, quantum systems, or High-Performance Computing (HPC) (Mandatory).
• B.Sc. or higher in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics from a leading university (Tel Aviv University, Technion, Hebrew University, or Ben-Gurion University) (Mandatory).
• Familiarity with compilers, automated CI/CD pipelines, or distributed system architecture is an advantage.
