Co-Founder - AML Compliance

Company Description:

• We are two founders exploring and building a new venture in the compliance infrastructure space, with a particular focus on KYB, business onboarding, risk operations, and the messy workflows that sit between customer growth, regulation, fraud prevention, and internal operations.
• The current thesis is that business onboarding is still too fragmented, manual, slow, and operationally painful for many regulated companies. Compliance, risk, fraud, operations, and product teams often rely on a mix of vendor tools, spreadsheets, manual reviews, internal policies, document checks, and human judgment. This creates bottlenecks, inconsistent decisions, poor customer experience, and expensive operational overhead.
• Our goal is to identify and build a high-value, venture-scale product in this space, likely around AI-assisted workflows, entity intelligence, document review, decisioning, monitoring, and operational automation.

The founding team currently includes:

• Omer, a founder/operator with deep experience in strategic research, competitive intelligence, market analysis, customer discovery, positioning, and B2B product validation.
• Nathanael, a technical founder with strong product and engineering capabilities.

We are now looking for a third co-founder with deep domain expertise in compliance, KYB, AML, risk, fraud, business onboarding, or fintech operations.

Role Description:

• This is an entrepreneurial co-founder role, not a traditional employee position.
• We are looking for someone who can join us at the earliest stage and help shape the company from thesis to validated product to go-to-market. You will bring deep practical understanding of how compliance and business onboarding actually work inside regulated companies, where workflows break, what buyers care about, and which problems are painful enough to justify a new company.
• You will help us pressure-test the market, define the wedge, speak with potential customers, evaluate existing vendor gaps, design the product from a real workflow perspective, and build credibility with early design partners and customers.
• This role is ideal for someone who has lived the pain from the inside and now wants to build the product they wish existed.

Responsibilities

• Help define and sharpen the company’s initial thesis, ICP, wedge, and product direction
• Bring real-world knowledge of compliance, KYB, AML, onboarding, fraud, risk, or financial crime workflows
• Participate in discovery calls with compliance, risk, fraud, operations, fintech, and financial services professionals
• Identify where existing tools and vendors fail in practice
• Help translate domain pain into product requirements and MVP scope
• Support early customer validation, design partner conversations, and go-to-market strategy
• Help establish credibility with buyers, operators, and industry experts
• Work closely with the founding team on strategy, positioning, and company-building
• Eventually lead or co-lead domain strategy, customer development, partnerships, and/or commercial motion, depending on fit

Qualifications:

• Deep hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: KYB, KYC, AML, financial crime, fraud, compliance operations, risk operations, business onboarding, fintech compliance, payments, banking, crypto compliance, lending, or regulated B2B workflows
• Strong understanding of how business customer onboarding works in practice, including review processes, vendor usage, internal policies, escalation flows, and operational pain points
• Ability to distinguish between “interesting compliance problems” and problems that are urgent, budgeted, and painful enough to support a venture-scale company
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking
• Comfortable with ambiguity, early-stage exploration, and changing direction based on evidence
• Excellent communication skills and ability to speak with both operators and executives
• Entrepreneurial mindset and genuine desire to build a company from the ground up
• Strong network in fintech, compliance, risk, banking, payments, or related regulated industries is a major advantage
• Experience buying, implementing, operating, or evaluating compliance/KYB tools is highly valuable
• Prior startup experience is a plus, but not required
• Technical background is not required, but comfort working with AI, data, automation, and workflow software is helpful

What We’re Looking For:

• We are not looking for an advisor who gives occasional feedback.
• We are looking for a serious potential co-founder who wants to help build the company, challenge the thesis, get close to customers, and turn domain insight into a real product.

Location:

Remote/flexible. We are based in Israel and are open to working with the right person globally.
